Life With Xiola
So I started writing an update post on Xiola Rose’s actual due date and her first week birthday 18 Aug. I got back to it on the 21st and never completed it. It’s now already close to her first MONTH! Such is the life of a newborn mom! It’s not like I haven’t got time…there’s plenty when she’s napping and she naps pretty much 1-2 hrs in every 3 hr cycle. But then there’s so much else to catch up with during the 1-2hrs I get in between feedings. Take a nap myself, for one. Laundry. Eating.
I still can’t believe how natural all this feels. I can’t quite put a finger to why it feels so natural…it’s such an upheaval to my “normal” life, at the same time, it’s just a new normal now. My life has been leading up to this and this will lead up to my future with Xiola in it. I now see why parents say they can’t imagine life pre-kids anymore and all the cliches about life being fuller. It’s too true. As great as pre-kids life was, it’s just so much more now.
I have so much to write about life with Xiola. Starting from the C-section, to recovery, to breastfeeding, to swearing by a parent-led schedule, to sleep training, etc etc. I started a post that got way too long, so I think I’m gonna break it up into different posts by topic instead.
We’ll see how long it’ll take me to get the first post in!
